Hon.Colonial Secretary.
Sir,
In reply to your letter No.1147/03/
C.S.0., I most humbly beg to explain for the inform-
ation of His Excellency the Governor, that the
reasons of my admission into Hospital on the two
occasions mentioned in the attached were:
(1) That I resigned from the Prison service
here, thereby forfeiting my home and foreign service
altogether six years. The reason I then gave for my
so doing was owing to the excessive night duty I
had to perform. I did not mention the fact then, but
it was more on account of my being superceded by a
junior officer.
On rejoining the Government Service, I
made an application for my previous service to be
allowed to count toward pension, but this was not
granted, this together with the irrational act
which I consider I had taken by severing my connec-
tion with the Prison service caused me a great deal
of anxiety of mind &c.
(2) I further beg to state that my 2nd admis-
sion into Hospital, was owing to family troubles at
home, all about which can be seen in the attached
letters.
The above are the only reasons I can give
for my admission into Hospital on both occasions.
